Promutuel Insurance Vaudreuil-Soulanges is proud to donate a total of $10,000 to four local community organizations that have been very involved in helping residents of the region since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This donation was made possible thanks to the generosity of the mutual’s insured members, who chose to donate their car insurance premium rebates to community organizations to help them deal with the effects of the pandemic. Promutuel Insurance Vaudreuil-Soulanges supported this show of solidarity by matching its insured members’ donations so that four organizations each received $2,500: the Moisson Sud-Ouest food bank, L’Actuel volunteer centre, La source d’entraide thrift store, and West Island Mission.
“As a 100% Québec-based insurer that understands the needs of residents and local businesses, it’s only natural for us to support our insured members during this difficult time and give them the option to donate their rebate to help the community,” said Promutuel Insurance Vaudreuil-Soulanges General Manager Isabelle Salvas. “We’re so proud to see that our insured members share our values of mutual aid and solidarity.”
The rebate on car insurance premiums was announced in April to aid in the collective effort to support all the communities Promutuel Insurance Vaudreuil-Soulanges serves. The program ran for three months and the amount depended on how much less members drove their vehicle. To obtain the rebate, insured members had to fill out a form on the Promutuel Insurance website or contact the mutual company.
“It has been a number of weeks since the rebate was announced in April, but residents in our region still have pressing needs and organizations like the ones we are supporting today are still responding to a high volume of requests,” added Ms. Salvas. “We hope that this donation will reassure community members that we are there for them.”

Since January 1st 2009, Promutuel Soulanges and Promutuel Vaudreuil, general insurance mutual associations, have merged their activities to create a new administrative body under the name of Promutuel Vaudreuil-Soulanges. The new mutual insurance association's head office is located at Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Here is a brief overview of both mutual insurance associations' history :
In 1980, the Compagnie d'assurance mutuelle contre le feu, la foudre et le vent de la paroisse de Sainte-Madeleine-de-Rigaud is converted to the Société mutuelle d'assurance contre l'incendie de Rigaud. In 1995, the mutual insurance association adopts a new corporate name, that of Promutuel Vaudreuil. At the beginning, the head office was located in Sainte-Madeleine-de-Rigaud and in 1981, it was relocated within the municipality of Rigaud.
In 1979, the mutual insurance associations of Coteau-du-Lac, Saint-Clet, Saint-Polycarpe and Saint-Zotique pooled their energy together in the making of the Société mutuelle d'assurance contre l'incendie de Soulanges, grouping 800 insured members. This merger would be the starting point of a progressive growth punctuated by many steps which allowed the mutual to broaden its mandate according to the member's needs for protection.
We have introduced a survey for insured-members who have filed a claim with Promutuel Insurance to give us feedback on the service they received. This survey will also enable us to improve the service we deliver to our insured-members.
The survey can be found online at http://www.promutuel.ca/sondage and access is restricted to insured-members who have received a PIN. Not all insured-members who file a claim will systematically receive a PIN to access the survey.
If you have filed a claim with Promutuel Insurance and have not received a PIN by mail or by email, but wish to share your comments with us, please do so by following our complaint process: https://www.promutuelassurance.ca/en/complaint-process.
