There’s no shortage of winter activities in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue area. It’s time that’s in short supply. That’s why we’ve created a list of our favourite outings. Try these must-do activities in our area for good times with your family and friends! It’s guaranteed fun!

Just minutes from Val-d’Or, Forêt Récréative is home to a 2-km skateway in the heart of nature. Bring the family for a fun, relaxing time in the forest with skates on your feet and smiles on your faces. 

 

 

Centre plein air Mont Kanasuta

Downhill skiing and snowboarding

Twenty minutes from Rouyn-Noranda, Centre plein air Mont Kanasuta is the family destination of choice for skiiers and snowboarders alike. Come enjoy 147 metres of altitude, 16 groomed runs, 8 tree runs, and a snowpark. Happy skiing!

 

 

  

Camp Dudemaine

Camp Dudemaine is the perfect natural setting for winter sport enthusiasts. There are 75 km of ski trails laid out for classic and skate skiing, 15 km of snowshoe trails, and plenty of fat bike trails. In short, everything to keep you playing in the snow.

 

 

Refuge Pageau

Each year, Refuge Pageau in Amos takes in injured animals from the boreal forest to care for and then release them. Walk along the trails in search of wolves, moose, lynx, white‑tailed deer, black bears, birds of prey, and other animals. It’s an unforgettable outdoor experience for the whole family!

 

Parc Belvédère

Parc Belvédère in the heart of Val-d’Or is THE place to go sledding with family and friends. Plus, it offers a stunning view of the whole town. And best of all, access to the park and sledding is completely free. So grab your toboggan!

 

 

 

 

These places are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the activities on offer in our beautiful region. Abitibi-Témiscamingue was established in an incredible natural setting.
