Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve Donates $350,000 to Local Community Organizations

Baie-Saint-Paul, December 1, 2025—As the 8th edition of “In the Heart of Your Community” winds down, Promutuel Assurance du Lac au Fleuve is thrilled to announce it will donate a total of $350,000 to 99 community organizations. This financial support will help implement forward-looking projects for communities across the company’s territory.

“Our commitment to communities is at the heart of our mission. Together, we have the power to make a difference. Through the ‘In the Heart of Your Community’ initiative, we support organizations that weave a strong and essential social fabric. We’re very proud to have the privilege of helping them carry out their inspiring projects,” said board chair Martine Thériault.

Regional Coup de cœur

A regional Coup de cœur component was included in the program to promote organizations within the community and provide them with extra support to carry out their projects. At the end of the jury’s deliberations, five projects per region were put to a public vote to determine a “Coup de cœur” in each of the participating regions. The five winning projects will receive an additional $5,000 to carry it out.

For the Charlevoix region, the Journée de la famille de La Virée Nordique de Charlevoix project was chosen as the regional “Coup de cœur.” A flagship event for the past 13 years, La Virée Nordique seeks to revive Family Day in 2026 through independent programming at Mont Grand-Fonds. Activities include guided ski and snowshoe trails, fun games, free trials and festive performances. This project aims to make winter sports accessible, encourage intergenerational connections and foster regional pride.

In Côte-de-Beaupré, La Fondation de l’Hôpital Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré was selected for its Divertissement pour nourrir le cœur et l’esprit project. The Fondation is committed to providing the CHSLD’s residents with fun and uplifting activities, including creative workshops, shows, themed outings and intergenerational connections. These activities foster a warm and dynamic environment—despite limited resources—and help strengthen social ties within the community.

In the North Shore region, L’Espoir de Shelna was selected as the “Coup de cœur” for its Havre de Shelna development project. This initiative will provide a safe and inclusive outdoor space for adults with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome. Adaptive furniture, relaxation areas and outdoor activities will promote relaxation, fellowship and well-being in an inclusive setting.

In Kamouraska, the Centre d’art de Kamouraska was selected as the regional “Coup de cœur.” Their Moi à l’oeuvre project is a free arts education and social development program that introduces more than 1,200 children between aged 2 to 8 to contemporary art through artist-led workshops. This program provided in schools and daycare centres sparks imagination, curiosity and communication, while promoting equitable access to culture and fostering cultural discovery in areas with limited artistic outlets.

Lastly, in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Maison d’intégration Norlac Inc. was selected for its Lieu de détente accessible project. The organization seeks to convert part of its parking lot into a inviting green space for its 60 adult members living with an intellectual or physical disability. A fireplace, a garden pavilion, picnic tables, gardening bins and games like the bocce will create a welcoming and inclusive setting conducive to recreation and relaxation.

“Every year, we witness with admiration and gratitude the imagination and involvement of the organizations that work so hard across our territory. Considering that every dollar invested in our community is a step toward a brighter future, we can only be proud to support these organizations helping to make that brighter future a reality,” concluded company general manager Pierre Raymond.
