Baie-Saint-Paul, May 6, 2026—Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve is proud to announce the launch of the initiative Promutuel Insurance Back-to-School—Heartfelt Support for Local Youth. This major philanthropic undertaking aims to support the elementary schools across its territory that are recognized as being in a context of socioeconomic vulnerability, according to the criteria established by the Québec Ministry of Education (see Appendix). Through this initiative, our Mutual Company will invest more than $3.2 million over four years to address essential needs in schools and support children’s educational success while considering the specific realities of the region.
Rolled out across our Mutual Company’s entire territory, the project will support 62 elementary schools. Each school will receive a donation determined based on the number of students enrolled for the next four (4) back-to-school periods (2026 to 2029). These funds will be used to address needs that are often difficult to meet through schools’ regular operating budgets. The amounts awarded may be used, among other things, to purchase school supplies, cover the cost of educational outings, purchase clothing or snacks, provide homework assistance, support specialized consultations in schools and acquire equipment for daycare services.
“Education is a fundamental pillar of individual and collective development. With the Promutuel Insurance Back-to-School initiative, we want to take concrete action to support the children and families across our territory, particularly at a time when schools are facing significant budget constraints,” said Pierre Raymond, General Manager of Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve. “Being a mutual company means staying close to the needs of our community as well as acting responsibly and with a spirit of solidarity.”
This project is aligned with the mission and values of Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve, which places mutual support, proximity and community engagement at the heart of its actions.
“By investing in education, we are contributing to the future of our communities. This project reflects our commitment to having a tangible and equitable impact across our entire territory by directly supporting youth where the needs are greatest,” added Martine Thériault, Chair of the Board of Directors of Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve.

School selection is based on the Socioeconomic Environment Index (SEI) and the Low-Income Cut-off Index (LICO), which are evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 represents the highest level of deprivation. Schools that received a score of 7 or higher on either of these indices were selected.
