Baie-Saint-Paul, September 1, 2026—True to its mission of supporting the communities it serves, Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve is very pleased to launch the 9th edition of its “At the Heart of Your Community” initiative. This year, a total of up to $325,000 in funding could be awarded to organizations to carry out projects that benefit the community.
Since its creation in 2015, the initiative has helped bring 490 projects to life, with funding totalling $1,828,267. These contributions have supported the essential work of community organizations, mutual aid associations, charitable foundations and other organizations whose activities have a positive and lasting impact in their communities. Working in a wide range of fields, from community support and culture to the environment, education and youth, these organizations play an undeniably important role in our regions. They continue to step up their efforts in response to ever-growing demand.
“At the Heart of Your Community” aims to support these organizations and encourage them to carry out projects that will have a positive impact on the community. “Mutual aid and collaboration are among the values on which our Group was founded. It is a great source of pride to highlight these values with the launch of this new edition,” said Martine Thériault, Chair of the Board of Directors of Promutuel Insurance du Lac au Fleuve.
How to participate?
Interested organizations are invited to submit their project by completing the form available on our website by October 9, 2026. A jury will evaluate the proposals received and determine the financial support to be awarded, where applicable. The selected projects will be announced in the first week of November.
People’s Choice Awards
Building on the enthusiasm of the past four years, the People’s Choice Awards will return this year. Following the jury’s deliberations, the five highest-scoring projects across all categories in each region of the territory—Charlevoix, Côte-Nord, Côte-de-Beaupré, Kamouraska and Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean—will be put to a public vote to determine the People’s Choice Award winner in each region. The organization receiving the most votes will be named its region’s “2026 People’s Choice” and will receive an additional $5,000 in financial support to carry out its project.
“This component not only increases the financial support provided to organizations but also helps raise their profile among the public. By inviting the public to vote for their favourite project, we are creating a real sense of momentum around local initiatives. It’s a great way to celebrate the commitment, creativity and dynamism of community organizations while giving them the means to bring their ideas to life,” said Pierre Raymond, General Manager.
