If a rustic-style sugar shack is your thing, look no further than Sucrerie du Terroir! Stop in for a meal and let the wood decor, costumed servers, and sleigh rides take you back in time. You’ll love the all-you-can-eat traditional dishes. Some have been given a modern twist, like “light” baked beans and buckwheat crêpes.

What we love: the folk singer on Friday and Saturday nights and the endless marshmallows that you can toast over the fire!

Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien

L’Ange-Gardien

Located 20 minutes from Gatineau, Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien is a sprawling property with a campsite and a number of other attractions, such as snow tubing, a traditional sugar shack, and a sugar bush. Visitors are welcome to visit the sugarhouse where maple syrup is boiled and produced the old fashioned way. The meals are traditional and abundant. For a more sophisticated experience, try the premium menu!

What we love: the sugar shack/sledding package (weather permitting), and sugar bush trails where you can see the sap dripping into the buckets.

Érablière Riveraine

If you like a little bit of history with your sugar shack, you’ll love Érablière Riveraine. It dates back to the 1950s. Bringing the kids? There’s plenty for little ones here. They can fill up on sweet treats, of course, but they’ll also have fun exploring the playground and other attractions, like the petting farm and mini museum of farm antiques.

What we love: the farm animals and those hard-to-find maple syrup dumplings.

Érablière du Vignoble de Chelsea

The rustic yet chic Vignoble de Chelsea is a mere stone’s throw from Gatineau. Hearty all you-can-eat dishes are served family style and always with a side of traditional music. Come on a Friday or Saturday night for the folk singer.

What we love: dinner and a show and the grilled pork cheeks (yum!).
