Sainte-Perpétue’s Festival du Cochon press conference

Last updated on July 13th, 2022

Sainte-Perpétue’s Festival du Cochon held its press conference on June 29. After a two year hiatus, the pig festival is back and better than ever, with a fantastic 43rd edition set to run from August 4 to 7, 2022. The new organizing committee is promising festival goers an amazing event.

Promutuel Insurance Centre-Sud is proud to join in the fun and contribute to the success of the festival, which has been the pride of the village and region for 43 years. Festival du Cochon has grown to become a major tourist and cultural event that has put the village of Sainte-Perpétue on the map and has a hugely positive economic impact in the Centre-du-Québec region.

Our mutual insurance association is pleased to be the presenting sponsor of the main stage once again this year. We will be there from August 4 to 7 to cheer on the headliners performing on the Promutuel Insurance stage. Here are the artists performing at the festival.

Thursday, August 4
2 Frères and Salut Bob Gorgée (a tribute to Bob Bissonnette) will get the crowd on its feet. Hip hop artist Sir Pathétik will be there to end the evening on a high note.

Friday, August 5
Get ready to rock out at LÉGION, an epic 90s nostalgia show with legendary bands Les Frères à Ch’val, Vilain Pingouin and Noir Silence.

Saturday, August 6
Headliners Pépé et sa guitare, Travis Cormier, Matt Lang and Exterio are sure to wow the crowd.

Canada’s biggest amateur BBQ competition

The greased pig race has been retired to make room for a new crowd favourite, the BBQ Labonté competition. To win, competitors will have to cook different pork cuts under the watchful eye of the crowd, sharing tips and tricks. A panel of 30 judges will have the arduous task of choosing the winning team.

Dig in

For foodies, there will be six eateries celebrating pork in all its forms. Bistro Hyo, a pop up restaurant in Sainte-Perpétue’s Au Paturage Espaces Gourmands, will be the place to go for a gourmet feast. On August 5 and 6, chef Chloé Ouellet, a season 9 participant on the popular show Les Chefs!, will serve up a 3-course menu that will knock your socks off. The business received a special mention for its community involvement at the latest Aliments du Québec au menu restaurateur awards.
