Groupe Promutuel Donates $15,000 to the Canadian Red Cross L’Isle-Verte Fund

Quebec City, January 24, 2014 — It is in a spirit of solidarity that Groupe Promutuel is donating $15,000 to the “L’Isle-Verte” Fund, launched today by the Canadian Red Cross to help people affected by the tragic fire that occurred on the night of January 22 to 23.

Within hours of being informed of the fire, Groupe Promutuel mutual companies decided to join forces to make a donation. One of them, Promutuel Rivière-du-Loup, has its head office at L’Isle-Verte. “We automatically feel the need to react when such an unfortunate event affects an entire community. We are pleased to give $15,000 to the Canadian Red Cross today to provide a little respite to the people affected by the tragedy,” said Sylvain Fauchon, the Groupe’s President and CEO.

“Each mutual company lends its support as a gesture of mutual aid and cooperation. It’s during times like this that our mutualist values really matter. Promutuel Groupe’s $15,000 donation reflects the solidarity that unites mutual companies,” commented Omer Bouchard, Groupe Promutuel’s Chairman of the Board.
